GDP growth and deficit in 2015

According to preliminary estimate published today by the Central Statistical Office, Polish GDP grew in 2015 by 3.6%, which is higher than assumed in the budget act and higher than in the year 2014. This confirms Poland's strong fundamentals and continued growth path of the economy. At the same time, preliminary data on the execution of 2015 budget show that the deficit of State budget will be lower than PLN 47bn.

Ministry of Finance expects that the final outcome of other parts of general government sector (incl. local governments) will not significantly influence the overall result of the sector. Hence, it is legitimate to expect general government deficit in 2015 below 3% of GDP.
